Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles from Allium cepa L. Peel Extract, Their Antioxidant, Antipathogenic, and Anticholinesterase Activity

Summary: This study focuses on the synthesis and characterization of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Allium cepa peel and evaluates their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticholinesterase activities. The biosynthesized nanoparticles were characterized using various techniques, and their crystal size and zeta potential were determined. AC-AgNPs showed strong growth inhibitory activities against specific microorganisms, exhibited antioxidant properties, and demonstrated inhibitory effects on key enzymes. Overall, this eco-friendly and cost-effective method has potential applications in biomedicine and industry.

Total Phenolic Content and Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activities of Papaver rhoeas L. Organ Extracts Growing in Taounate Region, Morocco

Summary: The study aimed to valorize Papaver rhoeas L. from Morocco by analyzing its total polyphenol content, total flavonoid content, and antioxidant and antimicrobial activities in different organs. Results showed that the leaf and flower extracts had higher total polyphenol content compared to the root and stem, and all four extracts exhibited similar total flavonoid content. Furthermore, the leaf and flower extracts demonstrated low DPPH values and significant antimicrobial activity.
