Carboxylated carbon quantum dot-induced binary metal-organic framework nanosheet synthesis to boost the electrocatalytic performance

Daqi Song et al.

Summary: In this study, two-dimensional NiFe-MOF nanosheets with highly efficient oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performance were successfully synthesized using a simple approach. The use of carboxylated carbon quantum dots (CQDs-COOH) as an inducing agent enlarged the layer spacing of NiFe-MOF and increased the positive charge on the active sites, leading to improved OER performance. The nanosheets also exhibited good stability. The results demonstrate the potential application of this method in energy conversion and storage devices.

One-Pot Synthesis of Orange Emissive Carbon Quantum Dots for All-Type High Color Rendering Index White Light-Emitting Diodes

Huazhang Guo et al.

Summary: The challenges of traditional long-wavelength emitting luminescent materials have hindered their widespread applications, but the development of new types of materials shows promise. This study successfully prepared orange emissive carbon quantum dots (O-CQDs) and demonstrated their remarkable photoluminescent properties, laying the foundation for high-performance white-light-emitting diode (WLED) devices. Furthermore, the combination of O-CQDs and yellow emissive CQDs achieved all-type WLEDs with a high color rendering index (CRI), suggesting a new avenue for the exploration of low-cost and high-performance WLEDs using long-wavelength emitting CQDs as a light regulator.

Summary: Developing a ratiometric fluorescent probe based on terbium functionalized graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets (Tb-g-C3N4NS) allows for quantitative detection of anthrax biomarker dipicolinic acid (DPA) with high accuracy. By combining the reference signal of g-C3N4NS and the response signal of Tb3+, the concentration of DPA can be easily calculated via its linear correlation with the intensity ratio, providing a precise measurement with a low detection limit. This study not only enables excellent self-calibrating detection of DPA, but also inspires broader use of g-C3N4NS for relevant processes.
