In situ synthesis of Au nanoparticles confined in 2D sheet-like metal organic frameworks to construct competitive PEC biosensor for sensitive analysis of autism spectrum disorder miRNA

Hong-Yan Shan et al.

Summary: Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a significant concern worldwide, and miRNA detection using the photoelectrochemical (PEC) method has attracted attention. In this research, 1,2,4,5-benzenetetramine tetrahydrochloride (BTA) was used as a ligand to form AuCl4- -MOFs, followed by the formation of Au NPs embedded in MOFs (MOFs@Au NPs). The MOFs@Au NPs showed significantly increased anode photocurrent compared to Au NPs alone. A label-free PEC biosensor was constructed using MOFs@Au NPs as a photosensitizer to detect miRNA-23a-3p related to ASDs. The sensor exhibited a wide linear range and low limit of detection, making it promising for blood-based RNA detection in biomedicine.

One-Pot Au@Pd Dendritic Nanoparticles as Electrocatalysts with Ethanol Oxidation Reaction

Young Su Choi et al.

Summary: The one-pot synthesis of Au@Pd dendrites nanoparticles (Au@Pd DNPs) was achieved using CTAC as a reducing and capping agent in a high-temperature aqueous solution. The highly monodisperse Au@Pd DNPs were obtained with a high yield based on the Au:Pd ratio. The nanostructure, optical, and crystalline properties of the Au@Pd DNPs were characterized using UV-vis spectroscopy, TEM, and X-ray diffraction. The Au@Pd DNPs exhibited efficient electrochemical catalytic performance towards the ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR) attributed to their nanostructures and Au:Pd ratio.

Biosynthesis and characterization of nanoparticles, its advantages, various aspects and risk assessment to maintain the sustainable agriculture: Emerging technology in modern era science

Debasis Mitra et al.

Summary: The current review provides knowledge on the biosynthesis and characterization of nanoparticles (NPs), their multifactorial role, and emerging trends of NPs utilization in modern science, especially in sustainable agriculture to solve the future food problem. NPs can be synthesized using organic or inorganic molecules, and their structures can be studied using various methods such as Raman spectroscopy and optical spectroscopy. Nano-agrochemicals, including nano-fertilizers, nano-pesticides, and nano-herbicides, have been developed. The mode of action for antibacterial NPs is still poorly understood, but multiple modes of action may be required to prevent antibacterial resistance.
