Magnetic CoFe1.95Y0.05O4-Decorated Ag3PO4 as Superior and Recyclable Photocatalyst for Dye Degradation

Qingwang Liu et al.

Summary: The Ag3PO4/CoFe1.95Y0.05O4 nanocomposite with magnetic properties was synthesized using the hydrothermal method. The structure and morphology of the material were characterized, and its photocatalytic activity for degradation of dyes was tested. The nanocomposite exhibited smaller size and higher efficiency in degrading dyes than individually synthesized Ag3PO4 and had magnetic separation capabilities. Ag3PO4/CoFe1.95Y0.05O4-0.2 showed the highest activity and stability in degrading dyes, with 98% reduction achieved within 30 min.

Constructing S-scheme 2D/0D g-C3N4/TiO2 NPs/MPs heterojunction with 2D-Ti3AlC2 MAX cocatalyst for photocatalytic CO2 reduction to CO/CH4 in fixed-bed and monolith photoreactors

Muhammad Tahir et al.

Summary: In this study, an exfoliated 2D MAX Ti3AlC2 conductive cocatalyst anchored with g-C3N4/TiO2 was investigated for CO2 photoreduction. The results showed that the combination of TiO2 NPs and the 2D Ti3AlC2 MAX structure achieved higher CH4 production. The composite material operated under a step-scheme photocatalytic mechanism, suppressing the recombination of useful electron and holes and providing a higher reduction potential for efficient CO2 conversion. The performance of the composite catalyst was further studied in a fixed-bed and monolith photoreactor, demonstrating increased CO production with monolithic support but reduced CH4 production.

Electrostatic self-assembly combined with microwave hydrothermal strategy: construction of 1D/1D carbon nanofibers/crystalline g-C3N4 heterojunction for boosting photocatalytic hydrogen production

Feng Lin et al.

Summary: The 1D carbon nanofibers/crystalline g-C(3)N(4) heterojunction photocatalyst (CNF/CCN) obtained through electrostatic self-assembly combined with microwave heating strategy shows an enhanced photocatalytic H-2 evolution rate. The improved performance is attributed to the enhanced crystallinity of CN, promoted visible light utilization, large specific surface area, and efficient charge transfer across the interface between CNF and CCN.

Synergistic effect of hierarchical structure and S-scheme heterojunction over O-doped g-C3N4/N-doped Nb2O5 for highly efficient photocatalytic CO2 reduction

Fahim A. Qaraah et al.

Summary: A novel 3D O-doped g-C3N4/N-doped Nb2O5 (OCNNb) S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst was successfully fabricated using control of each material's surface charge-induced heteroaggregation. The optimized sample exhibited substantially higher conversion rates of CO2 compared to blank control samples (O-doped g-C3N4 and N-doped Nb2O5). The enhanced photocatalytic efficiency can be attributed to the prevention of charge carrier recombination and the presence of high specific surface areas and abundant active sites.
