Applying CeO2 nanorods in flexible electrochemical immunosensor to detect C-reactive protein

Rafael Aparecido Ciola Amoresi et al.

Summary: In this study, a flexible electrochemical immunosensor based on CeO2 nanorods immobilized with CRP antibody was developed for the detection of cardiovascular disease biomarker. The CeO2 nanorods were obtained by microwave-assisted hydrothermal method and characterized by XRD, TEM, and XPS. The immunosensor's working electrode was prepared by dispersing the nanorods in organic solvent, functionalizing them with cystamine and glutaraldehyde, and then modifying them with CRP antibody. The developed immunosensor exhibited good reproducibility, a wide detection range, and a low detection limit, making it suitable for point-of-care applications.
