COVID-19 Diagnosis from Chest X-ray Images Using a Robust Multi-Resolution Analysis Siamese Neural Network with Super-Resolution Convolutional Neural Network

Happy Nkanta Monday et al.

Summary: Chest X-ray is a useful method for COVID-19 evaluation, and a computer-aided diagnosis approach using AI can reduce clinician burden. This study proposes a super-resolutionbased Siamese wavelet multi-resolution CNN called COVID-SRWCNN for COVID-19 classification. By reconstructing high-resolution images and learning high-level features, the proposed model achieves high accuracy and useful performance for COVID-19 screening.

A TRANSFORMER-BASED SIAMESE NETWORK FOR CHANGE DETECTION

Wele Gedara Chaminda Bandara et al.

Summary: This paper presents a transformer-based Siamese network architecture (ChangeFormer) for Change Detection from a pair of co-registered remote sensing images. By unifying hierarchically structured transformer encoder with MLP decoder in a Siamese network architecture, it efficiently renders multi-scale long-range details required for accurate change detection. Experimental results show that the proposed ChangeFormer architecture achieves better performance than previous methods on two change detection datasets.

COVID-19 in CXR: From Detection and Severity Scoring to Patient Disease Monitoring

Maayan Frid-Adar et al.

Summary: This study estimates the severity of pneumonia in COVID-19 patients through a deep learning model that detects and localizes pneumonia in chest Xray images. By calculating a Pneumonia Ratio based on localization maps, disease severity is assessed to build a temporal disease extent profile for hospitalized patients. The model's applicability to patient monitoring is validated by comparing disease progression profiles generated from synthetic Xrays to those from CT scans.
