The Effect of Sample's Dimension and Cutting Technology on Magnetization and Specific Iron Losses of FeSi Laminations

Maria Dems et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of cutting laminations on the magnetic properties and losses of electric machine cores. It explores how to obtain average characteristics for different directions of magnetization by testing samples cut in different directions. The study also presents a simplified method for determining the characteristics of punched sheets of various widths.

Analysis of magnetic properties degradation following industrial impregnation process of electrical steel laminations

H. Helbling et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the degradation of magnetic properties in electrical steels used in stators of large generators following an industrial impregnation process. The study first focuses on the impregnation process on industrial stators to highlight its significance. Laminated ring cores are then subjected to the same process under different configurations to control the impregnation conditions. The magnetic characterization of the ring cores reveals the influence of resin on the magnetic properties. Additionally, an experimental protocol is proposed to distinguish the resin effect from other potential phenomena during the curing phase, and the results emphasize the impact of the process on the magnetic properties.

How non-conventional machining affects the surface integrity and magnetic properties of non-oriented electrical steel

Kieran Winter et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of four unconventional machining methods on the magnetic properties of non-oriented electrical steel laminations, revealing that traditional machining methods have little effect on the micro-magnetic domain structure, while non-conventional machining can affect the magnetic properties of the surface.

Parametric Optimization for Improving the Machining Process of Cu/Mo-SiCP Composites Produced by Powder Metallurgy

Emine Sap et al.

Summary: Composite materials, such as Cu/Mo-SiCP composite materials produced by powder metallurgy, exhibit excellent performance attributes. The reinforcement ratio was found to be the dominant factor influencing all response parameters. Different machining parameters also have an impact on surface roughness, flank wear, and cutting temperature.
