Gradient plasticity in isotropic solids

Summary: This study presents a framework for describing gradient plasticity in isotropic solids based on the Riemannian curvature derived from a metric induced by plastic deformation. It introduces a fourth-order partial differential equation for the plastic strain rate as a flow rule, in contrast to the second-order flow rules proposed in other treatments of gradient plasticity in isotropic solids.
