State Bounding Description and Reachable Set Estimation for Discrete-Time Genetic Regulatory Networks With Time-Varying Delays and Bounded Disturbances

Yu Xue et al.

Summary: This article presents a novel delay-dependent sufficient condition to ensure that state trajectories globally converge exponentially into a Cartesian product of two polytopes for genetic regulatory networks with bounded disturbances. These conditions can be applied as criteria for global exponential stability of the zero equilibrium when disturbances vanish, and as estimation of reachable sets for states. The proposed method does not require the construction of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and is easily implementable.

Global polynomial periodicity and polynomial stability of proportional delay Cohen-Grossberg neural networks

Liqun Zhou et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the global polynomial periodicity (GPP) and global polynomial stability (GPS) of proportional delay Cohen-Grossberg neural networks (PDCGNNs). By applying transformations, designing suitable Lyapunov functionals (LFs) with adjustable parameters, and utilizing inequality techniques, several delay-dependent criteria for GPP and GPS are obtained for PDCGNNs. The acquired criteria are validated by a numerical example and are shown to outperform existing results. Additionally, a practical application of PDCGNNs in solving a quadratic programming problem using a GPS criterion is demonstrated.

Summary: This paper considers the problem of state estimation for complex-valued inertial neural networks with leakage, additive and distributed delays. A delay-dependent criterion based on linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) is derived using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method, the Jensen inequality, and the reciprocally convex approach. The network state is estimated by observing the output measurements to ensure global asymptotic stability of the error system. Two examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The concept of pseudo Weyl almost periodicity on time scales is introduced, and sufficient conditions for the existence and stability are given using fixed point theorem, the theory of time scales, Holder's inequality, and Gronwall's inequality. A numerical application is also presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the outcomes.

Summary: This paper investigates the stability analysis and synchronization control of a fractional-order time-varying delay inertial neural network. A time-varying delay inertial neural network model is established for engineering applications. Based on the properties of the Caputo fractional derivative and the proposed lemma, the original inertial system is transformed into a conventional system and a synchronous control strategy is established. The stability conditions of a class of Caputo fractional-order time-delay inertial neural networks are provided. Simulation examples are given to verify the proposed method.

Summary: In this paper, a new class of discontinuous sawtooth-type activation function is designed for Hopfield neural networks (HNNs), and the multistability of these networks is studied. The results show that increasing the number of peaks in the activation function can improve the storage capacity of HNNs, offering a convenient and flexible method in theory and practice. Overall, HNNs with the designed sawtooth-type activation function demonstrate more total equilibria and locally stable equilibria compared to existing results.
