Two-dimensional magnetic interplay in the tensile-strained LaCoO3 thin films

Summary: High-quality epitaxial LaCoO3 thin films deposited on SrTiO3 substrates exhibit a ferromagnetic-paramagnetic phase transition near 80 K. Critical exponents of beta = 0.754(1) and gamma = 1.52(2) were determined, confirming the two-dimensional long-range magnetic interaction within the films. Further analysis suggests a decay in magnetic exchange distance as J(r) ∼ r^(-3.46).
