Effect of surfactant concentration on the morphology and thermoelectric power factor of PbTe nanostructures prepared by a hydrothermal route

E. M. M. Ibrahim et al.

Summary: In this study, lead telluride nanostructures were synthesized using a hydrothermal method at different surfactant concentrations, leading to variations in morphology and size. The results show that increasing surfactant concentration improves the thermoelectric performance due to enhanced Seebeck coefficient. Various characterization techniques were employed to study the structure, morphology, composition, and optical properties of the synthesized PbTe nanostructures.

Effects of transition metal element doping on the structural and thermoelectric properties of n-type Bi2-xAgxSe3 alloys

A. M. Adam et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that replacing Bi atoms with Ag atoms in the n-type Bi2-xAgxSe3 system can result in higher electrical conductivity and larger Seebeck coefficient. The concerned alloys were prepared by high temperature melting, with microstructure and surface morphology identified through XRD and SEM-EDX analysis. Promising ZT values were achieved due to the high electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient of some doped alloys.

Outstanding thermoelectric performance of n-type half-Heusler V(Fe1-xCox)Sb compounds at room-temperature

Yi Huang et al.

Summary: The effects of cobalt substitution at the Fe-site on the crystal structure, electronic structure, and thermoelectric properties of half-Heusler V(Fe1-xCox)Sb compounds were investigated. The compounds exhibit n-type behavior with decreasing Seebeck coefficient as the cobalt content increases, indicating cobalt substitution as an effective electron dopant for tuning carrier concentration. The optimized carrier concentration leads to the highest power factor at room temperature, making the compounds potential candidates as n-type TE materials for power generation near room temperature.
