Undoped and Eu-doped Gd2Zr2O7 phosphors with different concentrations were prepared using the solid-state reaction method. The emission color of Gd2Zr2O7:Eu3+ phosphors can be tuned over a broad range by varying the Eu3+ concentration under 256 nm excitation wavelength. The synthesized phosphors were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The PL spectra showed the 5D0 -> 7FJ (J = 1, 2, and 3) transition of Eu3+ and described the afterglow properties of these phosphors, which may be suitable for white-LED (WLED) development.
