Organic-conjugated polyanthraquinonylimide cathodes for rechargeable magnesium batteries

Yiyuan Ding et al.

Summary: In this study, three polyanthraquinonylimides (PAQIs) were synthesized and investigated as organic cathodes for rechargeable Mg batteries (RMBs), demonstrating high capacity, good cycling stability, and high rate capability. The study also revealed that the PAQIs stored Mg2+ through carbonyl enolization and exhibited high specific power density.

Effects of Conjugated Structure on the Magnesium Storage Performance of Dianhydrides

Hongkai Yang et al.

Summary: Comparative study on three conjugated dianhydrides reveals that the Mg2+ storage capacity is more influenced by the conjugated structure than carbonyl numbers. The extended conjugated structure enhances carbonyl enolization and improves the Mg2+ storage capacity, leading to better cycling stability. In particular, 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride shows high Mg2+ storage capacity and good cycling stability due to its large conjugated structure.
