Crystallization behaviour analysis of norbornene based semicrystalline cyclic olefin copolymer (c-COC) for Point-of-care (PoC) device manufacturing

L. Etxeberria et al.

Summary: This study provides a detailed analysis of the crystallization behavior of semi-crystalline COC material. The results show that the crystalline structure generated during the injection molding of PoC device parts remains the same regardless of processing conditions. The study on the non-isothermal crystallization kinetics suggests that the Avrami-Ozawa and Avrami models are effective in describing the crystallization behavior of the material.

Cyclo-olefin copolymer/poly(acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) blends: Structure-property relationships and morphological, rheological, and mechanical properties

Gokce Kurt et al.

Summary: This study investigates the morphological, rheological, and dynamic mechanical properties of blends of cyclo-olefin copolymers (COC) and poly(Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) (ABS) with different monomer compositions. The results show that the morphology of the blends varies with composition, and the addition of ABS increases the shear modulus and viscosity of the blends. Furthermore, the influence of ABS on the blends differs when using COC with different norbornene contents, with lower norbornene content COC being more compatible with ABS.

Influence of a Natural Plant Antioxidant on the Ageing Process of Ethylene-norbornene Copolymer (Topas)

Anna Masek et al.

Summary: The study indicates that hesperidin can serve as a natural stabilizer for polymers, effectively improving material properties and enhancing aging resistance. Additionally, hesperidin may act as a dye or color indicator, with few scientific reports discussing the potential use of flavonoids in detecting product changes during their service life, offering new possibilities in fields such as food packaging.
