Markers of hyperglycemia in the vitreous humor. A systematic review and meta-analysis

Sorin Hostiuc et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the utility and limitations of using vitreous humor markers to detect postmortem hyperglycemia. Glucose, Traub formula, fructosamine, and beta-hydroxybutyrate can be used to detect postmortem hyperglycemia with some limitations, while 1,5 Anhydro-d-glucitol can only suggest the absence of hyperglycemia before death.
