Exploring the putative role of PRDM1 and PRDM2 transcripts as mediators of T lymphocyte activation

Erika Di Zazzo et al.

Summary: PRDM1 and PRDM2 genes play important roles in T lymphocyte activation and differentiation. This study reveals that the expression of different transcripts of PRDM1 and PRDM2 changes during T lymphocyte activation, and is regulated by signaling pathways such as MAPK and PI3K. These transcripts have significant effects on the expression of key transcription factors involved in T lymphocyte differentiation.

The Multifaceted Roles of EGFL7 in Cancer and Drug Resistance

Beate Heissig et al.

Summary: Cancer growth and metastasis rely on interactions with the extracellular matrix, with EGFL7 and beta 3 integrin playing crucial roles in processes such as angiogenesis, ECM stiffness alterations, cellular adhesion, migration, and drug resistance. The signaling axis formed by EGFL7 and beta 3 integrin is identified as a key mediator in tumor metastasis and drug resistance. Research on these proteins provides insights into potential targets for anti-cancer strategies.

Searching for a Putative Mechanism of RIZ2 Tumor-Promoting Function in Cancer Models

Monica Rienzo et al.

Summary: Members of the PRDM gene family commonly express two main molecular variants, RIZ1 and RIZ2, with RIZ2 potentially promoting tumorigenesis by regulating mitosis-related genes to enhance cell viability and growth, and prompting cell cycle transition. Silencing RIZ may lead to reduced cell proliferation and increased apoptosis rate in cancer cells.Further studies are needed to understand the underlying molecular mechanisms of RIZ2's potential tumor-promoting functions.
