g-C3N4-wrapped nickel doped zinc oxide/carbon core-double shell microspheres for high-performance photocatalytic hydrogen production

Shuang Liang et al.

Summary: Developing efficient heterojunctions with enhanced photocatalytic properties is a promising strategy for photocatalytic hydrogen production. In this study, graphitic carbon nitride-wrapped nickel-doped zinc oxide/carbon core-double shell heterojunctions were utilized as efficient photocatalysts through an innovative approach. The introduction of Ni doping enhances visible light absorption, while the core-double shell structure improves charge transfer rate and photon utilization efficiency. The constructed Z-scheme heterojunction facilitates electron-hole pair transport, and experimental results confirm the Z-scheme charge-transfer mechanism. The obtained photocatalyst exhibits a significantly higher hydrogen evolution rate compared to pristine ZnO. This work provides a pathway for the development of highly efficient photocatalysts with unique core-double shell structures.

Double-Shelled Porous g-C3N4 Nanotubes Modified with Amorphous Cu-Doped FeOOH Nanoclusters as 0D/3D Non-Homogeneous Photo-Fenton Catalysts for Effective Removal of Organic Dyes

Jing Tang et al.

Summary: In this study, 0D/3D Cu-FeOOH/TCN composites were constructed as photo-Fenton catalysts by assembling amorphous Cu-FeOOH clusters on 3D double-shelled porous tubular g-C3N4 (TCN). The synergistic effect between Cu and Fe species could facilitate the adsorption and activation of H2O2, and the separation and transfer of photogenerated charges effectively. Cu-FeOOH/TCN composites exhibited significantly higher removal efficiency, mineralization rate, and rate constant in the photo-Fenton reaction compared to FeOOH/TCN and TCN, indicating their universal applicability and desirable cyclic stability.

Developing a Z-scheme Ag2CO3/ZIF-8 heterojunction for the surface decoration of cotton fabric toward repeatable photocatalytic dye degradation

Lili Wang et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel strategy for fabricating efficient, tailorable, and reusable photocatalytic cotton fabrics using the SILAR method with Ag2CO3-doped ZIF-8 to degrade residual dyes from the textile industry. The Z-scheme photocatalytic degradation mechanism of ZIF-8/Ag2CO3/CF is proposed, and the results show that ZIF-8/Ag2CO3/CF has 15-fold higher photocatalytic activity than ZIF-8/CF. The enhanced performance is attributed to the scattering of nanoparticles on the fiber surface, prevention of photocorrosion, and suppression of recombination.
