In this study, super strong B4C ceramic was prepared using dynamic sinter forging (DSF), with a flexural strength of 935 MPa and a hardness of 39.2 GPa. The strength is significantly higher than any previously reported values, while the hardness is one of the highest ever reported. These exceptional mechanical properties are attributed to the particle rearrangement and plastic deformation generated by the oscillatory pressure during dynamic hot forging. The findings suggest that DSF is a promising technique for producing high-performance B4C ceramics.
