Screen-Printed Electrodes: Fabrication, Modification, and Biosensing Applications

This review discusses the use of different nanomaterials in manufacturing on-screen electrode methods and strategies for stable diagnosis of biorecognition elements in the future.

Facile Green Preparation of Reduced Graphene Oxide Using Citrus Limetta-Decorated rGO/TiO2 Nanostructures for Glucose Sensing

Summary: The important electrochemical measurements of rGO/TiO2 electrodes for glucose sensor application are reported in this work. The sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility of the sensor electrodes in evaluating glucose concentration in serum are investigated. Citrus limetta fruit peel waste is used to synthesize green reduction of graphene oxide (rGO), and the rGO/TiO2 composite obtained by microwave heating method is analyzed for structural and morphological properties. The rGO/TiO2 sensor electrode shows high sensitivity, stability, and repeatability, with a response time of 5 s and a minimum detection limit of 0.32 μM of glucose.

Citrus sinensis and Musa acuminata Peel Waste Extract Mediated Synthesis of TiO2/rGO Nanocomposites for Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue under Visible Light Irradiation

Summary: In this study, TiO2 nanoparticles and TiO2/rGO nanocomposites were synthesized using waste extracts from Citrus sinensis and Musa acuminata peels as capping, reducing, and stabilizing agents. These nanomaterials were characterized and found to have good crystallinity and stability. The degradation of methylene blue dye under visible light irradiation was achieved using the synthesized nanocatalysts. The results showed that specific ratios of TiO2 nanoparticles and TiO2/rGO nanocomposites could efficiently degrade the dye.

Crack-Free and Thickness-Controllable Deposition of TiO2-rGO Thin Films for Solar Harnessing Devices

Summary: A facile spin-coating method was proposed for the deposition of crack-free and thickness-controllable TiO2-rGO thin films, and their formation was confirmed by a range of characterization techniques. The measurements demonstrated that the TiO2-rGO composite thin film exhibited significantly better photocurrent response than the bare TiO2 thin film, indicating that the addition of rGO remarkably improved the charge-transporting properties of TiO2 films.
