Water molecular bridge-induced selective dual polarization in crystals for stable multi-emitters

Yi Xing et al.

Summary: In this study, a selective dual polarization of D-A molecules was achieved by introducing water-based molecular bridges in their crystal structures, leading to an amplification of the molecular dipole moment and enabling multi-excitation and multi-emission characteristics in the crystals. This work provides a practical chemical approach for developing intrinsically polarized systems that can exhibit stable but distinct molecular photophysical properties.

Sensitive and Repeatable Photoinduced Luminescent Radicals from A Simple Organic Crystal

Yingxiao Mu et al.

Summary: Photoinduced organic radicals play a crucial role in various chemical and physical processes, however, the luminescent properties of these radicals are rarely reported. A unique luminescent radical has been discovered in a simple organic crystal, generated through gentle light irradiation, showcasing rapid and reversible generation due to the twist and asymmetric conformation of the isolated molecules with weak intermolecular interactions. Additionally, a dual-channel photosensitive device with rapid response and repeatability can be fabricated based on thin film of this organic crystal, enabling photoswitching on luminescence and conducting properties.

Realizing Record-High Electroluminescence Efficiency of 31.5 % for Red Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Molecules

Zheyi Cai et al.

Summary: Tailor-made red TADF molecules with intramolecular hydrogen bonding show NIR emissions in neat films and red delayed fluorescence in doped films, with high photoluminescence quantum yields. They exhibit high optical out-coupling factors due to their horizontal orientation in films. The non-doped OLEDs emit NIR lights with maximum external quantum efficiencies, while doped OLEDs achieve record-breaking efficiency levels with red lights emission. These new red TADF materials have great potentials in display and lighting devices.

Rational design for thermochromic luminescence in amorphous polystyrene films with bis-o-carborane-substituted enhanced conjugated molecule having aggregation-induced luminochromism

Keisuke Wada et al.

Summary: The designed triad molecule serves as a filler for achieving thermochromic luminescent behaviors in polymer films, exhibiting solid-state emission and dual-luminescent properties. The intensity ratios of dual emission are found to vary depending on the concentration of the triad, with aggregation leading to changes in emission color. Thermochromic luminescence is successfully achieved in amorphous films by heating, demonstrating the rational design for obtaining thermochromic luminescent properties.
