The mechanism of Co2+/Co3+ redox system before and after PMS activation was investigated using XPS analysis.

Summary: L-Cys-encapsulated ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles combined with Ox, N-rich mpg-C3N4 nanosheets were used for targeted drug delivery and combined therapy. The resulting nanocarriers showed pH dependent release of drugs and efficient generation of reactive oxygen species under ultrasound waves. The enhanced effect of ROS through tumor microenvironment is a key strategy for treating some cancers.

Cur-loaded ZnFe2O4@mZnO@N-GQDs biocompatible nano-carriers for smart and controlled targeted drug delivery with pH-triggered and ultrasound irradiation

Summary: In this study, a pH/ultrasound-responsive nano-carrier was prepared based on a magnetic core-shell structure and graphene quantum dots doped with nitrogen interlayer shell for controlled release of curcumin. The properties of the nano-carrier were extensively investigated and cytotoxicity assays were conducted on cells, showing no cytotoxic effects at high concentrations. The loaded curcumin exhibited high loading efficiency and sustained release, controllable by ultrasound irradiation and pH adjustment, making it suitable for targeted drug delivery.

These nano-devices exhibited high drug loading efficiency, released Cur molecules through dual US and pH approaches, and showed no cytotoxicity to healthy cells but toxicity to cancer cells. The release of Cur can be controlled by ultrasound radiation and pH, making them potential sonodynamic drug carriers for targeted cancer therapy.

Heterojunction of N/B/RGO and g-C3N4 anchored magnetic ZnFe2O4@ZnO for promoting UV/Vis-induced photo-catalysis and in vitro toxicity studies

Summary: In this study, ZnFe2O4@ZnO-N/B/RGO and ZnFe2O4@ZnO-C3N4 ternary heterojunction nanophotocatalysts were successfully prepared via sol-gel technique, demonstrating significantly improved photocatalytic properties compared to bare ZnFe2O4 and ZnO, especially in the degradation of methyl orange under UV and visible light irradiation. The ternary heterojuncted ZnFe2O4@ZnO-N/B/RGO was found to absorb lower energy visible light wavelengths, enhancing the photocatalytic properties of ZnFe2O4@ZnO loaded on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanosheets and graphite-like carbon nitride (g-C3N4), providing photo-Fenton degradation properties for the catalyst.
