Dynamic sound absorption characteristics of a series piezoelectric acoustic absorber regulated by voltage

He Xu et al.

Summary: This paper studies a piezoelectric acoustic absorber composed of double micro-perforated panels and their back cavity. By applying an alternating voltage, the piezoelectric MPP can be excited to generate an additional absorption peak, thereby enhancing the sound absorption performance of the absorber. The frequency and sound absorption coefficient of the additional peak are closely related to the voltage parameters.

Bilayer ventilated labyrinthine metasurfaces with high sound absorption and tunable bandwidth

Jiayuan Du et al.

Summary: The article demonstrates how high sound absorption and free air flow can be achieved simultaneously using a bilayer ventilated labyrinthine metasurface. It shows near-perfect absorption at resonant frequency with the relative bandwidth of absorption peak tunable in a wide range by adjusting the open area ratio of the structure.

Low-Frequency and Large-Scale Hybrid Sound Absorption Using Active Force Control

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: This study confirms through experiment and analysis that a hybrid structure utilizing active force control strategy has quasi-perfect absorption characteristics at low frequencies and is suitable for large-scale applications. By optimizing the control force, commendable large-scale absorptions can be achieved, outperforming conventional hybrid absorbers.
