Development of prediction models of transportation noise for roundabouts and signalized intersections

Khadija Abdur-Rouf et al.

Summary: This study developed traffic noise prediction models for roundabouts and signalized intersections of different sizes. The results showed that intersection type-specific models fit the measured data better than general models. Using these models can help predict traffic noise and implement necessary noise management and mitigation strategies.

Geostrophic drag law for conventionally neutral atmospheric boundary layers revisited

Luoqin Liu et al.

Summary: The study shows the applicability of the geostrophic drag law to conventionally neutral atmospheric boundary layers over a wider range of N/|f|. Results from large-eddy simulations reveal that coefficients A and B collapse to a single curve when plotted against N/|f|, but predictions for the cross-isobaric angle are less accurate due to strong dependence of B on N/|f|.
