Pulmonary metastasectomy with lymphadenectomy for colorectal pulmonary metastases: A systematic review

Martijn van Dorp et al.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review on the impact of simultaneous lymph node metastases on patient survival during metastasectomy for colorectal pulmonary metastases (CRPM). The results showed that simultaneous lymph node metastases have a detrimental impact on survival, especially for mediastinal lymph node metastases. Therefore, lymphadenectomy during pulmonary metastasectomy for CRPM is advised to obtain important prognostic value.

An analysis of a large multi-institutional database reveals important associations between treatment parameters and clinical outcomes for stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) of oligometastatic colorectal cancer

Saad Sheikh et al.

Summary: In this study, the clinical outcomes of patients with oligometastatic colorectal cancer treated with SBRT were analyzed using a large multi-institutional database. The results showed that SBRT treatment resulted in favorable overall survival, but the local recurrence rate was higher than expected. The study also found that increasing the BED10 value may help reduce local recurrence.

A multicenter LArge retrospectIve daTabase on the personalization of stereotactic ABlative radiotherapy use in lung metastases from colon-rectal cancer: The LaIT-SABR study

L. Nicosia et al.

Summary: This study investigated the efficacy and predictive factors of SABR in the treatment of lung colorectal metastases using a large multicenter retrospective database. The results showed that SABR could delay the progression to polymetastatic disease (PMD) and provide a relatively long disease-free period in selected cases. Furthermore, predictive factors were identified for treatment personalization.

Stereotactic ablative radiotherapy for operable stage I non-small-cell lung cancer (revised STARS): long-term results of a single-arm, prospective trial with prespecified comparison to surgery

Joe Y. Chang et al.

Summary: Long-term results from the revised STARS trial showed that survival after SABR is non-inferior to VATS L-MLND for operable stage IA NSCLC. SABR remains promising for such cases, with multidisciplinary management strongly recommended.
