Critical Factors for Blockchain Technology Implementation: A Supply Chain Perspective

Summary: Blockchain is an emerging technology in the digitalization age that has the potential to transform various businesses and their related activities by offering greater transparency in information and physical product transformations. However, the implementation of blockchain technology in the supply chain is relatively low due to several factors. This research aims to identify and investigate the critical factors for adopting blockchain in the supply chain. Through literature survey and expert feedback, ten critical factors were identified and prioritized using the TOPSIS method. The study found that developing the blockchain framework, knowledge and expertise, and communication among supply chain partners are high priority factors. The research recommends organizations to focus on developing the blockchain framework, building knowledge and expertise, and maintaining effective communication for successful blockchain implementation in the supply chain.
