Etofenprox guarding concrete for six weeks: immediate and delayed mortality of three major stored-product coleopterans

Maria C. Boukouvala et al.

Summary: This study examined the efficacy of etofenprox insecticide on concrete surfaces for controlling Prostephanus truncatus, Rhyzopertha dominica, and Trogoderma granarium adults and larvae over a period of six weeks. The results showed that etofenprox had varying levels of immediate and delayed mortality, with the efficacy dependent on the pest species/developmental stages and the time since application. The highest mortality rates were observed for T. granarium adults in the first week, while mortalities decreased over time for all tested species/stages.

Short- and Long-Term Mortalities of Small and Large Larvae of Alphitobius diaperinus (Panzer) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) on Concrete Surfaces Treated with Three Insecticides: Impact of Food

Nickolas G. Kavallieratos et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the short- and long-term mortalities of small and large larvae of Alphitobius diaperinus when exposed to etofenprox, deltamethrin, and the combination of piperonyl butoxide+acetamiprid+d-tetramethrin. Deltamethrin was found to be the most efficient active ingredient for managing both small and large larvae. The lesser mealworm, Alphitobius diaperinus, is an important pest in the poultry industry and can transmit dangerous pathogens to humans.

Deltamethrin residual mission against Alphitobius diaperinus (Panzer) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) on concrete for six weeks

Nickolas G. Kavallieratos et al.

Summary: This study compares the immediate and delayed efficacy of deltamethrin on concrete surfaces against Alphitobius diaperinus adults and larvae. Deltamethrin exhibits high efficacy in the first week, but decreases over time. It is highly effective against A. diaperinus larvae, regardless of the dose and food presence.

Immediate and delayed mortality of different Alphitobius diaperinus developmental stages on chlorfenapyr-treated concrete

Nickolas G. Kavallieratos et al.

Summary: A laboratory study showed that spraying concrete surfaces with half label or label dose of chlorfenapyr greatly increased the mortality rates of Alphitobius diaperinus, a harmful species in storages. Regardless of the developmental stage, size, and the presence or absence of food, chlorfenapyr was found to be an effective active ingredient in causing immediate and delayed mortality to A. diaperinus.

Residual Efficacy of Novaluron Applied on Concrete, Metal, and Wood for the Control of Stored Product Coleopteran Pests

Muhammad Yasir et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the residual efficacy of the insect growth regulator novaluron against adult stored product insects on different surfaces, finding that the residual efficacy decreased over time, with the most persistent residue on metal surfaces.
