High color purity and color tunability in Sm3+/ Eu3+activated/ co-activated Sr6Ca4(PO4)6F2 phosphor for WLED and display devices application

Sadaf Gauhar M. Mushtaque et al.

Summary: Fluoride based phosphors are valuable in the field of luminescence, especially in display devices and WLED applications. In this study, a series of Sm3+, Eu3+ activated/co-activated Sr6Ca4(PO4)F2 phosphors were prepared using the combustion method and citric acid as a fuel. The crystalline nature of the samples was confirmed through XRD characterization, while the morphological and elemental analyses were conducted using SEM and EDS. The vibrational features of the phosphors were confirmed by FTIR analysis. The photoluminescence properties showed color tunability from orange to red with co-doping of Sm3+ and Eu3+ ions, and the color purity was observed to be 99.15%. These results suggest that the Sm3+, Eu3+ activated/co-activated Sr6Ca4(PO4)6F2 phosphors are potential candidates for WLED and display device applications. (c) 2022 Elsevier B.V.
