Quality assessment of Astragali Radix based on pseudo-targeted metabolomics and chemometric approach

Yaxuan Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, a pseudo-targeted metabolomics approach based on scheduled multiple reaction monitoring was developed to evaluate the quality of Astragali Radix. 114 compounds were selected for relative quantification and the chemical differences between different growth patterns of Astragali Radix were compared. Statistical methods such as lasso regression and systematic clustering were used to identify marker compounds and verify their significance. The study also found that malonyl-substituted flavonoids were more abundant in wild/semi-wild Astragali Radix. Overall, the application of pseudo-targeted metabolomics and statistical methods provides multi-dimensional information for the quality evaluation of Astragali Radix.

Urine and serum metabolomics study of wild ginseng in rats with spleen-qi deficiency using rapid resolution liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry

Fangtong Li et al.

Summary: This study examines the potential therapeutic mechanism of wild ginseng in treating spleen-qi deficiency. It analyzes serum and urine metabolomics and identifies significant changes in various metabolites after wild ginseng intervention. The study also explores the relationship between gut bacteria and metabolites, providing theoretical support for the immune mechanism of wild ginseng and laying the foundation for future studies.

Biofunctional properties of wild cultivated and cultivated Ginseng (Panax ginsengMeyer) extracts obtained using subcritical water extraction

Yong-Nam Cho et al.

Summary: This study aims to compare the biofunctional properties of wild cultivated ginseng and cultivated ginseng extracts obtained by subcritical water extraction under different conditions. The results show that increasing temperature can lead to higher phenolic concentrations, increased antioxidant activity, and peak protein content in ginseng extracts.

The characteristics of ginsenosides and oligosaccharides in mountain- and garden-cultivated ginseng

Lianlian Zhu et al.

Summary: The study explored the chemical characteristics of mountainous forest cultivated ginseng (MFCG) and garden ginseng (GG) in terms of their ginsenosides and oligosaccharides. Results showed differences in the distribution of ginsenosides and oligosaccharides between GG and MFCG, related to the age and cultivation environment of the ginseng. The study provides insights into the quality control criteria for GG and MFCG.

Summary: RF, MLP, and CNN demonstrated high performance in predicting AD, with RF showing the smallest decrease in accuracy and most reliable predictions with fewer features. RF's provided features, highlighting the importance of the hippocampus, amygdala, and inferior lateral ventricle, contribute significantly to distinguishing NC, MCI, and AD, with AD demonstrating distinct neuroanatomical differences compared to MCI and NC.
