Plant-based extracts for cotton pest management in Sub-Saharan Africa: a review

Summary: Research conducted in sub-Saharan Africa has found that using botanical extracts, such as neem seed-pressed oil, in organic cotton production can be an effective alternative to synthetic pesticides. Other plants, including Cassia nigricans and aromatic species like Ocimum gratissimum and Cymbopogon citratus, have also shown promise in crop protection.
