Evolution in Lithography Techniques: Microlithography to Nanolithography

Ekta Sharma et al.

Summary: In today's society, electronic devices have become indispensable for healthcare, lifestyle, and efficient task completion. Various types of sensors have been developed to meet people's needs. These devices all contain chips fabricated using diodes, transistors, logic gates, and integrated circuits. The patterning of the substrate for further device development is achieved through lithography. This study provides a review of different lithographic techniques and examines their evolution and application in device fabrication. The advancements made in exposure tools to enhance device resolution are also discussed. Chemically amplified and non-chemically amplified resists, as well as their bonding and thickness, are examined. Mask and maskless lithography techniques, along with their advantages and disadvantages, are explored. The fabrication of devices at both micro and nano scales is addressed. Suggestions for improving the performance of these techniques are also provided.

Going beyond Pentacene: Photoemission Tomography of a Heptacene Monolayer on Ag(110)

Marie S. Saettele et al.

Summary: The study successfully prepared a highly oriented monolayer of heptacene on Ag(110) surface and characterized its electronic and structural properties in detail through angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and DFT calculations. By comparing experimental momentum maps, differences between heptacene and pentacene in terms of molecular orientation and energy-level alignment on metal surfaces were elucidated.

Demonstrating the Impact of the Adsorbate Orientation on the Charge Transfer at Organic-Metal Interfaces

Thomas Georg Bone et al.

Summary: Charge-transfer processes at molecule-metal interfaces are influenced by the metal's work function and the adsorbate's electron affinity, with the orientation of the adsorbate playing a crucial role in determining charge transfer. By adjusting molecular alignment, it is possible to tune the charge transfer and level alignment at organic-metal interfaces.
