Promotion of the Co3O4/TiO2 Interface on Catalytic Decomposition of Ammonium Perchlorate

Lin-Yu Zhou et al.

Summary: Supports can regulate the atomic geometry and electronic structures of active sites at the interface, thus affecting the catalytic activity and selectivity of nanoparticles. In this study, we constructed the Co3O4/TiO2 interface to enhance the catalytic decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP). Experimental and theoretical studies revealed that Co3O4 nanoparticles can strongly anchor onto TiO2 supports with charge transfer, leading to enhanced NH3 adsorption through hydrogen bonds at the interface. These findings provide new insights into the promotion effects of the nanoparticle/support system on the AP decomposition process and inspire efficient catalyst design.

Copper chromite/graphene oxide nanocomposite for capacitive energy storage and electrochemical applications

R. Shafique et al.

Summary: Innovation in design and fabrication of energy storage materials has led to rapid development in capacitive materials, with graphene-based metal oxide nanocomposites showing significant potential. Incorporating heteroatoms in graphene composites enhances the electronic properties of conductive materials. CuCr2O4/GO nanocomposites were developed using a co-precipitation method and demonstrated improved energy storage properties in both acidic and basic media.

Improvement of microstructure, mechanical properties and cutting performance of Ti(C,N)-based cermets by ultrafine La2O3 additions

Xiyue Kang et al.

Summary: The addition of appropriate amount of La2O3 can optimize the microstructure of cermet, enhance the hardness, wear resistance, and cutting performance, and improve fracture toughness; while excessive addition of La2O3 will result in a sharp decline in the properties of the cermet.
