Mitochondria-targeted fluorescent probe with long wavelength emission for detecting H2S and its application in foodstuff, water and living cells

Ling Xie et al.

Summary: In this study, a unique mitochondria-targeting fluorescence probe (DDMI) was established for the determination of H2S in living cells. The probe showed significant fluorescence enhancement at 623 nm when treated with H2S, and exhibited good selectivity and high sensitivity. It could also detect H2S in water samples with good recoveries and track the degree of food spoilage. Furthermore, the probe was successfully used for monitoring exogenous H2S in living cells and mitochondria targeting.

A highly selective colorimetric and fluorescent probe Eu(tdl)2abp for H2S sensing: Application in live cell imaging and natural water

Xiaoxia Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a new europium complex fluorescent probe Eu(tdl)2abp was successfully synthesized for efficient and specific recognition of hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The probe exhibited on-off fluorescence signals for H2S and its color changes could be observed with naked eyes. Eu(tdl)2abp showed a short response time, high selectivity, good anti-interference, and a large Stokes shift. The probe demonstrated a linear relationship between relative fluorescence intensity and H2S concentration with a low detection limit. The mechanism of H2S detection using Eu(tdl)2abp was characterized and the probe was successfully applied in the detection of H2S in natural water and living cells.

A Novel Turn-on Triphenylamine-Based Fluorescent Probe for Ultrasensitive Detection of Al3+ and Its Application on Test Strips

L. Xie et al.

Summary: In this study, a triphenylamine-based turn-on fluorescent chemosensor was successfully synthesized. This chemosensor showed high selectivity, excellent anti-interference performance, and remarkable sensitivity for Al3+ ions. After the addition of Al3+, the chemosensor exhibited strong fluorescence emission due to the formation of a rigid conjugate structure based on chelation-enhanced fluorescence mechanism. It can be used for visual detection of Al3+ on test paper.
