Summary: In this study, pure In2S3 and In2S3:Sm thin films with different concentrations were synthesized using a nebulizer spray pyrolysis process. Various analytical techniques were used to evaluate the crystallographic, morphological, elemental, optical, and photo-sensing properties of the synthesized samples. The results showed that the addition of Sm dopants in In2S3 thin films resulted in the formation of a cubic phase with a dominating peak at the (400) plane. The fabricated In2S3:Sm (2 wt%) thin film photodetector exhibited better performance, making it suitable for commercial applications.
