Professional stakeholders' perceptions of barriers to behavioral health care following pediatric traumatic brain injury

Aimee E. Miley et al.

Summary: This study examined barriers to behavioral health care (BHC) follow-up and telepsychology after pediatric traumatic brain injury (TBI) from the perspectives of professional stakeholders. The results showed that there are individual and system-level barriers to BHC post-injury, and telepsychology is generally recognized as a beneficial modality for BHC. However, there are concerns and challenges with implementing telepsychology, such as technology issues and funding.

Racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in paediatric critical care in the USA

Hannah K. Mitchell et al.

Summary: There are significant racial and socioeconomic disparities in pediatric critical care in the USA, especially evident in certain disease processes such as out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, asthma, severe trauma, sepsis, and oncology. Current research is limited by under-enrollment of participants from minority race or ethnicity groups, which needs to be addressed for a clearer understanding and effective strategies to be developed.
