Time and event-specific deep learning for personalized risk assessment after cardiac perfusion imaging

Konrad Pieszko et al.

Summary: Standard clinical interpretation of myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) is valuable for predicting major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), but personalizing predictions for specific event type and time interval is challenging. We present an explainable deep learning model that predicts time-specific risk for all-cause death, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), and revascularization directly from MPI and clinical features. The model performs well in short-term prediction and outperforms conventional measures for death prediction, with individualized patient explanations visualized using waterfall plots.

Coronary Calcium Scoring Improves Risk Prediction in Patients With Suspected Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease

Simon Winther et al.

Summary: The risk factor-weighted clinical likelihood (RF-CL) model and the coronary artery calcium score-weighted clinical likelihood (CACS-CL) model improve the identification of obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) compared with basic pretest probability (PTP) models. These new models provide improved risk stratification for myocardial infarction and death.

Risk of Mortality Prediction Involving Time-Varying Covariates for Patients with Heart Failure Using Deep Learning

Keijiro Nakamura et al.

Summary: This study developed and validated a deep learning-based prognostic model to predict the risk of all-cause mortality for patients with HF. The proposed model showed better prediction performance in terms of discrimination, calibration, and risk stratification compared to other deep learning and traditional statistical models, especially in identifying high-risk patients.
