Direct vs Indirect Revascularization in a North American Cohort of Moyamoya Disease

Pui Man Rosalind Lai et al.

Summary: This study found no significant difference in outcomes between direct and indirect revascularization procedures in adults with ischemic MMD. There were fewer long-term ischemic and hemorrhagic events in hemispheres with direct bypasses compared to indirect bypasses. However, both procedures showed similar outcomes in terms of infarction and hemorrhage, as well as clinical outcome.
