Syntheses, crystal structures and supramolecular assemblies of two Cu(II) complexes based on a new heterocyclic ligand: insights into C-H•••Cl and π•••π interactions

Samit Pramanik et al.

Summary: A new heterocyclic ligand, N3L, has been synthesized and characterized. The ligand was then used to prepare two complexes, and their crystal structures were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The study revealed that non-classical hydrogen bonding and π stacking interactions play a crucial role in stabilizing the supramolecular architectures of the complexes in the solid state.

Conformational polymorphs and solvates of 1-(6-aminopyridin2-yl)-3-phenylthiourea

Patitapaban Mohanty et al.

Summary: Three conformational polymorphs and two solvates of an asymmetrical N,N'-disubstituted thiourea derivative, 1-(6-aminopyridin-2-yl)-3-phenylthiourea (PTU), have been reported. The PTU molecules self-assemble into dimers in the solid state, and these dimers have specific intermolecular interactions. The crystalline forms and chemical properties of these polymorphs and solvates are different.

Synthesis, X-ray crystal structure and BVS calculation of Co(II) complex of pyrimidine derived Schiff base ligand: Approached by Hirshfeld surface analysis and TDDFT calculation

Kinsuk Das et al.

Summary: A new Co(II) complex was synthesized and characterized, showing a pseudooctahedral structure stabilized by intermolecular H-bonding and methanol molecules. Analysis with Hirshfeld surface and BVS calculation confirmed the structure and oxidation state of the central cobalt atom. Electronic transition experiment and TDDFT theory study revealed the electronic distribution of the complex.

Crystal Morphology Modeling of Solvates and Hydrates of Organic Molecular Crystals: Olanzapine Solvate and Dihydrate

Yuanyuan Sun et al.

Summary: Crystal morphology modeling of organic molecular solvates and hydrates is largely unexplored due to complex intermolecular interactions and growth units. A mechanistic model was presented to predict the crystal morphology of olanzapine-methanol solvate and olanzapine dihydrate, with binding energy calculations identifying the most probable growth unit clusters. The close agreement between experimentally observed and predicted morphologies supports the utility of the model.
