"Research Progress on Pharmacological Effects and Structural Modification of Fusidic Acid" reviews the latest research progress on the pharmacological effects and structural modification of fusidic acid, including its wide range of activities such as anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, antiparasitic and antiviral activities, with strong efficacy in the field of antibacterial. Future research will focus on improving efficacy, exploring new pharmacological activities and structural modifications of fusidic acid. Hopefully, this review provides useful information for the drug discovery of fusidic acid derivatives.
Fusidic acid is a tetracyclic triterpenoid isolated from fungi. Fusidic acid has a wide range of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, antiparasitic and antiviral activities. Among them, in the field of antibacterial shows a strong efficacy. The latest research progress on the pharmacological effects and structural modification of fusidic acid was reviewed by integrating and analyzing external related literature. Future research on fusidic acid will focus on improving the efficacy, opening up new pharmacological activities and structural modifications. We hope this review provides useful information for drug discovery of fusidic acid derivatives.
