Computational Study of Sorbic Acid Drug Adsorption onto Coronene/Fullerene/Fullerene-Like X12Y12 (X = Al, B and Y = N, P) Nanocages: DFT and Molecular Docking Investigations

Y. Shyma Mary et al.

Summary: The adsorption of sorbic acid drug onto C60/fullerene/fullerene-like nanocages was studied using theoretical calculations. Results showed that the drug connected the nanoclusters through oxygen and hydrogen atoms, leading to significant changes in chemical descriptors and nonlinear optical properties. The energy gap values of all nanocluster systems decreased, enhancing the conductivity of systems except for fullerene. Ultraviolet-visible wavenumbers of all complexes shifted to the blue end, with particularly high values for coronene and fullerene complexes, suggesting potential applications in nanocage sensor development.

Utilization of doped/undoped graphene quantum dots for ultrasensitive detection of duphaston, a SERS platform

Y. Sheena Mary et al.

Summary: The study investigated the interaction mechanism and adsorption effect of duphaston with different nanoclusters in drug delivery systems. Various spectroscopic properties and the use of surface enhanced Raman scattering were explored. It was found that COG-B nanocluster exhibited maximum energy interaction, with DPH acting as an electron donor on the electrophilic site of the nanoclusters. Higher charge transfer was observed for COG-B compared to other nanoclusters.
