Piezoelectric Nanogenerators Based On BaTiO3/PDMS Composites for High-Frequency Applications

Darya Meisak et al.

Summary: A series of flexible and environmentally friendly composites based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) filled with ferroelectric BaTiO3 (BTO) particles at different concentrations have been fabricated. The addition of BTO strongly affects the dielectric properties of the composites. Ultrasonic measurements demonstrate the piezoelectric voltage signal generated by the composite under mechanical vibrations, making it a potential candidate for nanogenerators.

Polydimethylsiloxane/BaTiO3 Nanogenerators with a Surface-Assembled Mosaic Structure for Enhanced Piezoelectric Sensing

Junyu Zhou et al.

Summary: Incorporating lead-free BaTiO3 piezoelectric ceramic nanoparticles into elastic polydimethylsiloxane matrix improves the performance of a piezoelectric nanogenerator (NG), especially with the surface-modifying mosaic structure. The NG exhibits highly sensitive and stable piezoelectric output and can be used for various applications in flexible and smart wearable electronics.

Testing a shear-thickening fumed silica suspension with parallel superposition rheology

F. J. Rubio-Hernandez

Summary: The shear thickening behavior exhibited by particle suspensions can be explained by various mechanisms. This study uses superposition rheometry to investigate the evolution of the shear thickening microstructure. The results suggest that initially a few large hydroclusters are formed, but with increasing shear, they evolve into numerous smaller hydroclusters.

New insights on carbon black suspension rheology-Anisotropic thixotropy and antithixotropy

Yilin Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, we conducted a detailed experimental investigation on the rheological dynamics of carbon black suspensions in mineral oil. We observed a peculiar antithixotropic response and verified its association with shear-induced structural changes using orthogonal superposition rheometry. We also found mechanical anisotropy in the suspension under shear using the same technique.
