Investigation of binding interaction between human serum albumin with zirconium complex of curcumin and curcumin

Hamid Dezhampanah et al.

Summary: This study investigated the binding process of Zr(CUR) as a novel complex of zirconium with curcumin ligand and curcumin to human serum albumin (HSA) using fluorescence spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and molecular docking techniques. The results showed that Zr(CUR) and CUR effectively quenched the endogenous fluorescence of HSA, forming a 1:1 complex through static quenching mechanism. Molecular docking revealed that Zr(CUR) and CUR interacted with HSA through hydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces.

Comparison of the interactions of flupyrimin and nitenpyram with serum albumins via multiple analysis methods

Zongyuan Zhao et al.

Summary: Flupyrimin and nitenpyram, neonicotinoid insecticides, interacted with serum albumins through quenching fluorescence and forming complexes via static process, causing conformational and structure changes. Thermodynamic analysis revealed the interactions were mainly driven by hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic forces, with binding constants indicating nitenpyram had greater stability than flupyrimin in binding with albumins. The acute toxicity bioassay showed low toxicity of both insecticides to zebrafish.

Exploring the binding mode between potassium bromate and Bovine serum Albumin: Multi-Spectroscopic and molecular modeling analysis

Mansour Mahmoudpour et al.

Summary: In this study, the binding mode of potassium bromate (PB) and BSA was investigated using multi-spectroscopic and molecular modeling techniques. The stability of the PB-BSA complex decreased with increasing temperature. Van der Waals forces and hydrogen bonding played significant roles in the stability of the PB-BSA complex. Molecular modeling analysis confirmed the specificity of bromate binding to chain A-BSA.

Multi-spectroscopic and molecular docking studies of human serum albumin interactions with sulfametoxydiazine and sulfamonomethoxine

Tancong Liao et al.

Summary: Sulfonamides like sulfametoxydiazine (SMD) and sulfamonomethoxine (SMM) were found to bind to human serum albumin (HSA) through hydrogen bonding and van der Waals forces, with SMD showing stronger binding affinity than SMM. The interaction induced conformational changes in HSA, particularly affecting the alpha-helix content, and specific amino acid residues in HSA were identified as key players in the binding process of sulfonamides. Results suggest that hydrogen bonds play a crucial role in the binding affinity between sulfa drugs and HSA, with combined use of SMD and SMM leading to significant variations in binding constants.

Potential ability of different types of cyclodextrins to modulate the interaction between bovine serum albumin and 1-hydroxypyrene

Jing Zhang et al.

Summary: The study investigated the modulating effects of four types of cyclodextrins on the binding between BSA and 1-hydroxypyrene, with gamma-CD and HPCD showing the most significant effects by reducing binding affinity and influencing protein structure. The results suggest that cyclodextrins affect the binding of 1-hydroxypyrene to BSA through their interactions, potentially offering value in regulating the toxic effects of OH-PAHs.

Molecular interactions of cefoperazone with bovine serum albumin: Extensive experimental and computational investigations

Mohd Sajid Ali et al.

Summary: The study investigated the binding of the cephalosporin-class drug cefoperazone with bovine serum albumin using spectroscopic techniques and in silico methods. The importance of correcting for the inner filter effect in this type of study was emphasized, and the binding mechanism was found to involve hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic forces with almost 1:1 static binding between BSA and CFP. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation suggested the presence of a putative binding site between BSA domains 1 and 3, which could be a target for future research related to BSA-drug binding.
