Attitudes and Beliefs about Hysterectomy in Patients with Uterine Fibroids

Summary: This study investigated the attitudes and beliefs about hysterectomy in women with symptomatic uterine fibroids and found that factors beyond fertility, such as body image, sexuality, and relationships, also influence the decision-making process. Physicians should consider these factors when counseling patients.

Cost-effectiveness of Myomectomy versus Hysterectomy in Women with Uterine Fibroids

Summary: This study compared the cost-effectiveness of different treatment approaches for uterine fibroids (UFs). The results showed that myomectomy was the most cost-effective strategy, while hysterectomy was more expensive and less effective. Furthermore, the study found an increased risk of coronary artery disease associated with hysterectomy.

Summary: Applying an unbiased method for analysis of MR images, this study found that treatment of HMB with SPRM-UPA did not result in a significant reduction in uterine or fibroid volume. These findings provide important insights into the effects of SPRM-UPA on uterine and fibroid volume.
