Radio-photoluminescence phenomenon in Cs2O-SrO-Al2O3-P2O5 glasses doped with different concentrations of Ag2O

Akihiro Nishikawa et al.

Summary: Ag2O-Cs2O-SrO-Al2O3-P2O5 glasses with different Ag concentrations (0, 0.1, 0.3, 1.0, and 3.0 mol. %) were prepared by the melt-quenching method. The photoluminescence properties were investigated and a new photoluminescence emission at around 590 nm was observed. The luminescence was confirmed to be due to Ag2+ with a lifetime constant of 14.7-45.5 ns according to the shape of the PL spectrum and lifetime. The 3.0% Ag-doped sample showed a spatial resolution of at least 10.0 LP/mm in X-ray imaging resolution test.

RPL properties of samarium-doped CaSO4

Go Okada et al.

Summary: The study reports the radiophotoluminescence (RPL) properties of Sm-doped CaSO4 for radiation dosimetry applications. After X-ray irradiation, the emission features change significantly with the appearance of new bands attributed to Sm2+. The sensitivity is lower compared to Ag-doped phosphate glass, but the signal is stable and reproducible even after thermal treatment.

TSL/OSL/RPL Automated and Integrated Measurement System (TORAIMS)

Go Okada et al.

Summary: Thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL), optically stimulated luminescence (OSL), and radio-photoluminescence (RPL) are widely used in radiation dosimetry, sharing common physical processes despite being considered different phenomena. Comprehensive characterization of these phenomena for a single material is crucial for deeper understanding and research.
