Renhai Yu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the flow behavior and processing properties of 7055 aluminum alloy, and conducts hot compression tests using a thermomechanical simulation machine. The results show that the influence of friction and adiabatic effect cannot be ignored during the experiment, and the MZA model can accurately predict the flow behavior of the alloy. The hot processing map reveals the safety and instability zone of 7055 aluminum alloy.

Microstructure evolution and corrosion behaviour of a high Mo containing α plus β titanium alloy for biomedical applications

Diksha Mahadule et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of a high Mo containing titanium alloy. Different microstructures were observed depending on the heating temperature and cooling conditions. Heat-treated samples showed improved corrosion resistance, attributed to the presence of stable TiO2 film on the corroded surfaces. Samples treated at 950 degrees Celsius exhibited the best corrosion resistance overall.

Hot Deformation Characteristic and Strain Dependent Constitutive Flow Stress Modelling of Ti plus Nb Stabilized Interstitial Free Steel

Sumit Ghosh et al.

Summary: Efforts have been made to establish a relation between Zener-Hollomon parameter, flow stress, and dynamic recrystallization in Ti + Nb stabilized interstitial free (IF) steel. A novel constitutive model has been developed to predict the flow behavior in both alpha and gamma phase regions, showing high correlation coefficients and low average absolute relative errors with experimental data. The dominant mechanism for dynamic recrystallization appears to be dislocation glide controlled by dislocation climb.

Effect of heating temperature and cooling rate on the microstructure and mechanical properties of a Mo-rich two phase α plus β titanium alloy

Diksha Mahadule et al.

Summary: The study examined the influence of heating temperature and cooling rate on the microstructure and mechanical properties of a Ti-6Al-1V-4Mo-Si alloy. Different processing conditions resulted in varying microstructures, with oil quenching from the beta phase field leading to high strength and low elongation. The elongation increased with decreasing heating temperature, with the highest elongation obtained from samples heated to 850 degrees C followed by furnace cooling.

Zhengbing Xiao et al.

Summary: Hot compression tests were conducted on a homogenized Al-6.32Zn-2.10Mg alloy to characterize its hot deformation behavior. A modified Arrhenius constitutive equation was established to describe the flow behavior with good predictive effect on flow stress. Processing maps and optimal parameters were determined, and electron backscatter diffraction was used to analyze grain structure evolution during deformation. Dynamic recovery and continuous dynamic recrystallization were identified as the main softening mechanisms.
