Pingzhi Li et al.

Summary: Spin-orbitronics and single pulse all-optical switching of magnetization are two significant achievements in the field of nanomagnetism, with potential for novel memory and logic platforms. This study demonstrates fast current-induced domain wall motion and energy efficient all-optical switching in a synthetic ferrimagnetic system based on multilayered [Co/Gd](2), establishing it as a unique materials platform for domain wall devices with access to ultrafast single pulse all-optical switching.

Complex anomalous Hall effect in ferrimagnetic CoxGd100-x (39 ≤ x ≤ 73) alloys

Wei Tang et al.

Summary: In this article, the magnetic properties and Hall effect of CoxGd100-x alloys with varying Co concentrations were studied. A complex anomalous Hall effect, including temperature-dependent polarity reversal and the appearance of an extra hump, was found in a certain range of Co concentration. These characteristics were explained by the combined effect of magnetic domain evolution and spin-flop behavior. These results are helpful for understanding the complex transport properties in the RE-TM ferrimagnetic alloys.

Novel behaviors of coercivity in GdFeCo/Hf/MgO heterostructure

Ngo Trong Hai et al.

Summary: This study investigates the coercivity behaviors of the GdFeCo/Hf/MgO heterostructure, where the Hf layer is inserted to convert charge current into spin current and prevent oxygen diffusion. The coercivity can be flexibly altered by selecting a proper Gd content via electric current.

Spin-flop led peculiar behavior of temperature-dependent anomalous Hall effect in Hf/Gd-Fe-Co

Ramesh Chandra Bhatt et al.

Summary: The study investigates the temperature dependence of anomalous Hall effect in Hf/GdFeCo/MgO sheet film and Hall bar device, revealing similar magnetic compensation temperatures of around 240 K and 118 K. The experiment shows distinct characteristics of AHE hysteresis loops in the sheet film and device, as well as unusual responses in temperature-dependent anomalous Hall resistance when subjected to a perpendicular magnetic field. These findings provide important insights into understanding the complex AHE behavior of ferrimagnets for spintronic applications.

Real-time Hall-effect detection of current-induced magnetization dynamics in ferrimagnets

G. Sala et al.

Summary: A new approach for time-resolved measurements of magnetization reversal is presented, showing activation delays in the current-induced switching of GdFeCo, despite high domain-wall velocity. The method is applicable to various current-induced phenomena and can be combined with non-electrical excitations for pump-probe Hall effect measurements.

Field-free spin-orbit torque-induced switching of perpendicular magnetization in a ferrimagnetic layer with a vertical composition gradient

Zhenyi Zheng et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates bias-field-free switching of perpendicular ferrimagnets through the use of vertical composition gradient, which induces intrinsic SOTs and gradient-driven DMI to break in-plane symmetry during the switching process. The research provides a novel strategy for designing efficient and compact SOT devices for perpendicular ferrimagnetic materials.

Complex anomalous Hall effect of CoGd alloy near the magnetization compensation temperature

Ting Fu et al.

Summary: In this study, anomalies in the complex Hall effect near the magnetization compensation temperature of CoGd alloy films were systematically investigated. The occurrence of a topological Hall effect was ruled out through detailed magnetic and transport measurements, leading to the construction of a phenomenological model to explain the complex Hall effect based on the influence of spin-flop effect and component inhomogeneity. This research provides insights into the microscopic magnetic properties and transport properties of rare-earth transition metal ferrimagnetic alloys near the compensation point.
