Optical transition properties, energy transfer upconversion luminescence, and temperature-sensing characteristics of Tm3+/Yb3+ Co-doped oxyfluoride tellurite glass

Zhongli Wu et al.

Summary: The optical transition properties of Tm3+ in oxyfluoride tellurite glass were determined using the Judd-Ofelt theory. The study obtained radiative transition rates, fluorescence branching ratios, and intrinsic lifetimes for interesting transitions or levels. It was found that the optimal doping concentration for upconversion luminescence was 0.1% Tm2O3. The analysis also confirmed two-photon and three-photon processes for specific emissions of Tm3+.
