Rich fluorine trident type rigid donor-acceptor (D-A) tricarbazoles-triazine structures: An effective strong acid affinity fluorescent dye

Kaibo Hu et al.

Summary: Two highly electron-deficient compounds containing the triazine group connected to electron-giving carbazole groups were synthesized and studied for their photophysical and electrochemical properties. The results showed that compound A-2 exhibited good performance in acidic environment and can be used as an acid affinity fluorescent dye, while compound B-2 was insensitive to acidic conditions and can be used as an acid-resistant dye on material surfaces.

Exciplex-Forming Systems of Physically Mixed and Covalently Bonded Benzoyl-1H-1,2,3-Triazole and Carbazole Moieties for Solution-Processed White OLEDs

Mariia Stanitska et al.

Summary: Newly designed exciplex-forming acceptors were used to synthesize carbazole and benzoyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole derivatives with efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence. The ortho-substituted carbazole-benzoyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole exhibited the most efficient fluorescence, making it suitable for white light-emitting diodes. The device achieved high power efficiency, current efficiency, and brightness, with close to nature white color coordinates and a high color rendering index of 92.

Host engineering based on multiple phosphorylation for efficient blue and white TADF organic light-emitting diodes

Chunmiao Han et al.

Summary: Developing host materials for efficient blue and white TADF OLEDs is challenging due to the need to optimize optoelectronic properties. The influence of peripheral groups on host performance was investigated by constructing phosphorylated carbazole hosts with DPPO substituents. The triphosphorylated tBCzPTPO showed superior triplet protection and high photoluminescence quantum yields, leading to state-of-the-art external quantum efficiencies and power efficiencies in TADF OLEDs.

Does Through-Space Charge Transfer in Bipolar Hosts Affect the Efficiency of Blue OLEDs?

Simas Macionis et al.

Summary: This study identifies additional energy loss pathways in blue electrophosphorescent devices through through-space charge transfer (TSCT) states of bipolar hosts. New bipolar derivatives of benzimidazole are shown to be applicable for blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) due to their high triplet levels, bipolar charge-transporting properties, and high ionization potentials. To prevent energy losses through TSCT in PhOLEDs, the excited state energy of emitter must be lower than the triplet levels and TSCT energy level of bipolar host.

A strong acid-resistant flavanthrone with excellent photophysical properties

Kaibo Hu et al.

Summary: This study modified the structure of flavanthrone by introducing an electrochemically inert group and observed different optical properties under various acidic conditions. The addition of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid resulted in redshifted absorption wavelength and decreased fluorescence intensity, while other acids showed no significant effect. The flavanthrone compound demonstrated excellent fluorescence stability and high quantum yield under strong acid conditions.
