Photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline in aqueous systems under visible light irridiation using needle-like SnO2 nanoparticles anchored on exfoliated g-C3N4

Adewumi Olufemi Oluwole et al.

Summary: In this study, needle-like SnO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposites were synthesized and showed efficient decomposition of tetracycline under visible light irradiation. The heterojunction between SnO2 nanoparticles and exfoliated g-C3N4 nanosheets promoted the separation of charge carriers, leading to enhanced degradation of tetracycline. This nanocomposite material has potential applications for the degradation of pharmaceuticals with similar chemical structures.

Study on the remediation of tetracycline antibiotics and roxarsone contaminated soil

Lu Zhan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the efficient removal and stabilization of tetracycline antibiotics and roxarsone in contaminated soil using thermal treatment combined with chemical stabilization technology. The heat treatment process of tetracycline antibiotics contaminated soil was found to be controlled by first-order kinetics. The addition of FeSO(4 center dot)7H(2)O as a stabilizer during the heat treatment process resulted in a 96.7% stabilization rate. Through the analysis of arsenic fractions and soil samples characterization, the mechanism of arsenic stabilization in roxarsone was explored.

Environmental fate of tetracycline antibiotics: degradation pathway mechanisms, challenges, and perspectives

Ahmad Fiaz et al.

Summary: Tetracycline pollution poses a growing global threat to aquatic and terrestrial biodiversity due to its unprecedented use in aquaculture, livestock, and human disease prevention. Although there is significant research data on tetracycline, there is a lack of a report compiling recent literature data for better analysis by policymakers, including detection techniques, degradation mechanisms, degradation products, and policy statements.
