Treatment of zeolite adsorbed material as a potential nuclear waste glass-ceramic matrix

Guilin Wei et al.

Summary: This study successfully immobilized different types of simulated zeolite wastes under suitable experimental conditions, with a sintering temperature of 1500 degrees Celsius and a holding time of 1 hour. The main microstructures were identified as sheet silicates through FT-IR results, and SEM-EDS results confirmed the formation of a glass-ceramic matrix to effectively immobilize the considered nuclear wastes.

Immobilization of simulated An4+ radioactively contaminated zeolite: Solidify mechanism and theory investigation

Beilong Yuan et al.

Summary: Radioactively contaminated zeolite poses a serious threat to human health and the environment, making safe disposal crucial. This study successfully immobilized simulated contaminated zeolite without the need for additional agents. The research examined the mechanical properties, chemical durability, and microstructure of sintered samples, providing important data for the treatment of radioactively contaminated zeolite.

Mechanical and leaching properties of neodymium-contaminated soil glass-ceramics

Guilin Wei et al.

Summary: The study showed that glass-ceramics are more suitable for immobilizing neodymium-contaminated soil compared to glass, as they have a lower leaching rate and higher hardness. Additionally, using microwave sintering can reduce energy consumption and achieve better immobilizing effects.
