This study reveals the crucial role of AUXIN RESPONSIVE FACTOR8 (Arf8) gene in the development of the feeding site induced by root-knot nematodes in tomato. The expression level of Arf8 gene is associated with nematode infection and it participates in the formation of the feeding site through regulating the plant hormone signaling pathway.
